How To Choose The Perfect Colour For Your Interior Design?
What Is The National Colour System?
Picking the perfect colour theme for your faktum kitchen is not only dependant on the amount of natural light in the room, but the colour of the walls, too. The National Colour System (NCS) is a chart of over 1950 colours of all different tones available to you when choosing a colour for your interior design efforts. This is available both online and in card form to ensure that you have the perfect reference you need for the colour you want when organising your interior design. In this article, we are going to be giving you an introduction into the NCS and how we use it to give you the finish you deserve for your unique space.
This colour system was specially designed by the Swedish Colour Centre Foundation to define colours by their physical appearance rather than the process of mixing colours. This was especially important to the success of the system, as there have been hundreds of changes over the past few years to cater to the popular demand of specific colours.
The system first began with a range of 1412 colours in 1979 with an additional 118 colours added due to popular demand 5 years later in 1984. 11 years later in 1995, the chart featured 1,750 colours in total with another 200 added in 2004, making it easier than ever to pick the right shade. This has then been incorporated into a number of manufacturing processes to ensure that customers gain the colour that they specifically require.
In the UK you can use the NCS scheme to locate a specific shade of the colour you require. You can take any paint sample to your nearest shop or retailer and they will scan the colour for you. This will find the closest match to the colour you’re looking for which may not necessarily be an NCS code. However, they can use the NCS index number to provide you with the closest match of a specific shade should they not be able to find the desired colour through the scanning process.
Due to the colour being created through the perception of the colour rather than mixing, you may have a slight alteration of that colour every time due there being no exact match. When going by an index, you can ask for a paint sample which will be mixed for you, this will then allow you to try it yourself to see if this is the colour you would like to opt for.
How Do We Use It?
Here at Noremax, we use this in-depth colour chart to provide customers with a wide range of colours perfectly suited to any room in the home. We follow this closely to ensure you get the finish, overall colour and undertone that you require every single time.
When choosing a colour during your interior design project for your ikea metod kitchen, there are several ways that you can ensure you get close to an exact match. When using our service, we will offer you with a drop-down list of most popular NCS codes. This will provide us with the colour that you would like for your cupboard fronts when ordering. Please note that it is important to be aware that the colour may vary due to subtle variations in tone as it is not an exact mix of colours.
If you find the specific NCS code is not available in the drop-down menu provided, you can provide the manufacturers with the NCS code directly. In addition to this, you can also provide a Farrow&Ball or Jotun colour code or name to ensure we find you the colour you need. Noremax already holds NCS codes for Jotun and Farro&Ball pallets to be able to provide you with the near exact match when selecting your chosen product.
You can also check the links on our website to all NCS, Jotun and Farro&Ball colours if you don’t wish to check them in the paint shop.
Another option you have is to arrange an appointment with our UK representative to view our front’s samples and check the NCS code index or Farrow&Ball colour pallet.
